Lil Baby Drops Video for World Cup Song “The World Is Yours”

While the world was engulfed in the news of Argentina’s thrilling victory over France in the 2022 World Cup Final, Lil Baby and Budweiser released the music video for the FIFA inspired Tears For Fears song “The World Is Yours to Take.”

The anthem was originally released in September as part of the official soundtrack to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in partnership with Budweiser, the event’s official beer, and was followed by two international remixes by Argentine rapper Paulo Londra and Brazilian producer Papatinho, both of whom make cameos in the new video.

The song’s visuals were directed by Canadian filmmaker Director X, and like the song’s chorus, the video was inspired by Tears For Fears’ “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”, using desert backdrops. Other moments show Lil’ Pepe walking into FIFA World Cup stadiums, as he performs salutes to Londra and Babatinho, and features artists, DJs, and other world-class creatives.

There are also scenes from the World Cup tournament, including Argentina’s celebrations on the 2022 World Cup stage and clips from the rapper’s performance at a Budweiser event at BUDX Doha.

Director X appears in the last minute of the video as a behind-the-scenes montage ends the treatment. Lil Baby uploaded a candid compilation of the video shoot two weeks ago with the caption, “I’m somewhere in the World Cup, I’m not in your league,” a lyric from his and EST Gee’s song “Back and Forth.”

“I’m excited to make history with Budweiser and to close out the 2022 FIFA World Cup with this unforgettable video,” Lil Baby said in a statement about the video’s release. “Working with Director X and amazing people from around the world, we celebrate what it means to bring the world together and inspire people to make these dreams come true.”
